With almost 30 years of experience working as a tailor, dressmaker, and costumer for some of Hollywood's biggest stars, I am excited to continue my journey as a clothier. Clothing is much more than a utility to protect us from the elements. The right clothing can be a shroud of power to the individual.  As fashion photographer Bill Cunningham once said, “fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life.”

At a young age, I was acutely aware of how clothing made me feel.  Over the years, I have developed a keen sense of the power a garment has to transform the wearer. Clothing has the profound effect to alter the individual both energetically and emotionally. With that power, for example while wearing a bright flowing dress one may project a sense of lightness and joy. In contrast, with the application of muted or dark colors it is possible to mask one’s emotions and vulnerabilities from the eyes of those we come in contact with, putting forth our best self, while reserving our imperfections only to be shared with those who know us more intimately.

I see clothing as an armor that protects us from our vulnerabilities, allowing us to stand before the world with confidence and grace. Much like a fingerprint is unique to the individual, style too is a personal and an individualized notion. Using clothing as the media, my passion is to bring out the greatest qualities of the individual through the use of the sartorial arts.
